I believe this is also expanded via a talent you can put points into.Īlthough, despite the possibility of making good money from all the commissions you can take, I think it might be a bit harder to make money in this game–or maybe I’m just not seeing the mechanics of it. And after getting into the second position, I believe, you’re able to grab more commissions from the board. Second, you can get into the top 3 commissioners tier really easily in just the first month. I run damn near everywhere because I forget that I could just rent a horse or have my own horse via a stable on my land. And actually, it seems a whole lot easier than My Time at Portia.įor one, stamina is no longer consumed while you’re running, which is awesome. With this game being in the early access phase, I knew I couldn’t expect everything to be 100% up to speed, but for what it’s worth, so far it’s a really fun game to play. There’s so much more to do here than farm work. This is not so much a farming sim, though there is that line of play, but more of a life sim. We play as a licensed builder tasked with helping Sandrock and its citizens grow to be the thriving place it once was. The adventure is, well, taking all kinds of missions from people and just expanding and growing out your land in the years to come. You’ve got your roosters that shoot rockets, yaks, and lizardfolk. The action comes from having to fight monsters in order to get their materials for crafting and such. But for a fresh new replay? Ehhh, I don’t see much point in it. Replay ValueĪs of writing this, My Time at Sandrock is in early access, so you can keep coming back for updates and such. Gather resources to build machines, befriend locals, and defend Sandrock from monsters - all while saving the town from economic ruin! Game Length You no longer have to be holding the specific material in your hand.Īfter accepting a job offer to become Sandrock’s newest Builder, you’ll arrive in the wild and rugged city-state, where it’s up to you and your trusty tools to restore the community to its former glory. When building something on the assembly station, any item that you have located in your storage boxes can be used for building. This was something that was not implemented in Portia, and I’m so happy that they’ve put it in this game. So if you need another item to create a full relic, you can see which layers will possibly give you that piece, instead of wandering around a huge expanse of ruin and tunneling this way and that to get some form of something that you need. You’ve got several levels to the ruin diving, and each layer will yield you specific relic items as well as other finds. I think I’ll take my chances… Ruin diving is straight-forward Like, why’d they have to make Logan a sexy outlaw, and why did the reporter have to call me out for lying about Logan’s sidekick having the nickname egghead? Also, why did Burgess have to come on so strong about me not being allowed to chop down trees? Oh no, the horror of not being his friend at this point. So…lock on your target to make it a whole helluva lot easier for you.įrom the moment I first talked to some of these characters, I knew I was going to like them…and dislike others. If you aren’t locked on your target when you’re trying to fight, your character is going to swing their weapon all over the damn place and barely make any strikes count. More of a boost for you to get something done that you weren’t able to. Even going into the café to grab a bite to eat doesn’t restore enough stamina to really make a difference in the long run. I’m pretty sure there are tips given in-game to have food on you when it comes to ruin diving and such, but the food doesn’t really give you that much stamina in the end. It’s not just about upgrading your house, building a chicken coop and stables, but…more completely remodeling your home if that’s what you wanted to do.īut the menu for it is just confusing to me. Once I visited Construction Junction, I checked out what I could do with my house, and the menu seems to be vastly different than that of Portia.
